In consolidating the culture of excellence and the recognition of scientific competences,
Biskra University organised, on 24 April 2025,

an honouring ceremony for three of its promoted professors to the rank of “Distinguished Professor - first cycle”, in recognition of
their outstanding academic and scientific career. The University Rector, Prof. Mahmoud
Debabeche, and his deputies, the faculties’ Deans and some University community members
attended the ceremony. In his opening statement, the Rector expressed his pride for this
qualitative achievement, considering this promotion as a distinguished scientific path
culmination for Pr.Mahmoud Amari, Pr Salahedine Zouzou, and Pr Abdelali Debla on their
promotion. This rank is an official recognition of the contributions to the development of the
Algerian university on a national and international level. The “Distinguished Professor”
promotion requires that the professor has demonstrated clear excellence through his published
research, his national and international academic activity. The ceremony atmosphere was
special, filled with respect and gratitude, to the extent of our collective pride in this deserved
achievement, which is a tribute to the efforts of the honoured professors. The honoured
professors, in their turn, expressed their gratitude, stressing that they will continue their
scientific careers for the good of the University and the country. This award is an inspiring
message to every member of the University community that that hard work and dedication
always bear fruit to excellence. Biskra University reaffirms its leadership incubator, a space
that values efforts, creates opportunities and cultivates hope. The event concluded with a
group photo that brought together the officials of Biskra University with the honoured
professors.
